KOHLER LuxStone is a premium shower-remodel system built around engineered stone wall panels, grout-free joints, custom-fit shower bases, glass doors, shelving, grab bars, and seating. Its biggest advantages are easy cleaning and fast installation. You get the upscale look of stone or tile without maintaining dozens of grout lines. The tradeoff is price. LuxStone is sold as a professionally installed remodel rather than a simple off-the-shelf surround, so quotes can climb well into five figures depending on the dealer and project. My overall KOHLER LuxStone shower review is positive on the product itself—but I would compare several remodeling quotes before signing anything. I knew I wanted something that was not only visually appealing but also durable and easy to maintain. After doing some research and reading numerous reviews, I kept coming across positive feedback about Kohler LuxStone showers. The combination of natural marble and durable fibers seemed to offer the perfect balance of luxury and practicality. The decision wasn't easy, but ultimately, I chose LuxStone based on its promising features and reputable brand name. The Installation Process One of my biggest concerns was the installation process. I had heard horror stories of long, drawn-out renovations that left bathrooms unusable for weeks. Fortunately, my experience with LuxStone was the complete opposite. Kohler’s professional installation team arrived promptly and began by taking precise measurements of my bathroom to ensure a perfect fit for the panels. The entire installation process was surprisingly quick and efficient. The team worked diligently, and within just two days, my new shower was ready to use. This quick turnaround minimized disruption to my daily routine, which was a significant relief. The professionalism and expertise of the installation team were evident throughout the process, giving me confidence in my choice. Also Read: Is Mdhair Shower Head Worth It? First Impressions The moment I saw my completed LuxStone shower, I was taken aback by its beauty. The panels had a stunning, high-end look that transformed the entire bathroom. I chose a design that mimicked white marble with subtle grey veining, and the result was breathtaking. The seamless panels created a clean, modern look that was exactly what I had envisioned. Daily Use and Functionality Using the LuxStone shower for the first time was an experience in itself. The spacious design and smooth, sleek surfaces felt luxurious and inviting. The non-porous nature of the panels meant that water and soap scum didn't cling to the surface, making each shower feel fresh and clean. Over the months, I've found that the shower maintains its pristine appearance with minimal effort. The walls and floor remain free of stains and discoloration, which is a huge plus given the hard water in my area. The showerhead and fixtures, also from Kohler, work flawlessly, providing consistent water pressure and a variety of spray options. Cleaning and Maintenance One of the standout features of the LuxStone shower is its ease of maintenance. After each use, I simply wipe down the surfaces with a damp cloth, and occasionally use a mild cleaner to tackle any soap residue. The non-porous surface means that there's no need for harsh scrubbing or chemical cleaners, which I appreciate both for the convenience and for the health of my family. I did encounter a small issue with water spots due to the hard water in my area. However, this was easily managed by using a squeegee to remove excess water after each shower. This simple step has kept the panels looking spotless and new. Long-Term Durability Having used the LuxStone shower for several months now, I can attest to its durability. Despite daily use, the panels show no signs of wear and tear. There's no chipping, cracking, or fading, which is a testament to the quality of the materials used. The shower has truly stood up to the rigors of everyday life, from quick morning routines to long, relaxing showers in the evening. Customer Service Experience My experience with Kohler’s customer service has also been positive. From the initial consultation to the follow-up after installation, the Kohler team was responsive and helpful. They provided clear instructions on maintenance and were available to answer any questions I had. This level of customer support has reinforced my confidence in the product and the company. Impact on Bathroom Aesthetics The LuxStone shower has dramatically improved the overall look of my bathroom. It serves as a focal point, elevating the room's aesthetic to a new level of sophistication. Friends and family who visit often comment on the stylish design and luxurious feel of the shower. It's a transformation that has not only enhanced my daily routine but also added value to my home. Comparison to Previous Shower Experience Comparing my LuxStone shower to my previous acrylic shower is like night and day. The old shower, while functional, lacked the elegance and durability of the LuxStone. It required frequent deep cleaning, and over time, it developed unsightly scratches and stains. The LuxStone shower, in contrast, remains as beautiful as the day it was installed, and the ease of maintenance has made a significant difference in my cleaning routine. Overall Satisfaction Overall, my experience with the Kohler LuxStone shower has been overwhelmingly positive. The combination of aesthetic appeal, durability, and ease of maintenance has exceeded my expectations. While the initial cost was higher than some other options, the long-term benefits and enhanced quality of life have made it a worthwhile investment. The transformation it has brought to my bathroom is something I enjoy every day, and I couldn't be happier with my decision. Also Read: Is Weddell Duo Shower Filter Worth It? The Pros of Kohler LuxStone Showers Aesthetic Appeal One of the first things that caught my eye was the sheer beauty of LuxStone showers. The panels mimic the look of natural stone, offering a sophisticated and modern appearance. Whether you prefer the classic elegance of marble or the sleek look of granite, there's a LuxStone option that fits your taste. I was particularly drawn to the range of colors and textures available, which allowed me to customize my shower to match my bathroom's overall design. Durability LuxStone showers are designed to be robust and long-lasting. The combination of natural marble and fiber reinforcement makes the panels resistant to chipping, cracking, and discoloration. After using the shower for several months, I haven't noticed any signs of wear and tear. This durability is a significant advantage, especially if you're looking for a low-maintenance solution that will stand the test of time. Easy Maintenance One of my top priorities was finding a shower that wouldn't require constant scrubbing and maintenance. LuxStone showers exceeded my expectations in this regard. The non-porous surface means that dirt, soap scum, and hard water stains don't penetrate the material, making it easy to clean. A simple wipe with a damp cloth and mild cleaner is usually enough to keep the shower looking pristine. This feature has saved me countless hours of cleaning, which I greatly appreciate. Quick Installation Unlike traditional tile showers, which can take days to install, LuxStone showers are designed for quick and hassle-free installation. The panels are custom-fit to your bathroom's dimensions, and the installation process typically takes just a day or two. This was a huge selling point for me, as it minimized the disruption to my daily routine. The Cons of Kohler LuxStone Showers Cost While LuxStone showers are generally more affordable than natural stone, they are still on the pricier side compared to other shower materials like acrylic or fiberglass. If you're on a tight budget, this could be a significant drawback. However, considering the durability and aesthetic appeal, I felt that the investment was justified. Limited DIY Options If you enjoy tackling home improvement projects yourself, you might be disappointed to learn that LuxStone showers require professional installation. The custom-fit panels and precise measurements mean that DIY installation is not recommended. I didn't mind this aspect, as I prefer leaving complex tasks to the experts, but it could be a downside for those who enjoy hands-on projects. Potential for Scratches While LuxStone showers are highly durable, they are not completely immune to scratches. Using abrasive cleaners or scrubbing pads can damage the surface. I've learned to be careful with my cleaning tools and stick to non-abrasive products to avoid this issue. However, it's something to keep in mind if you have young children or pets who might inadvertently scratch the panels. Also Read: Is Kitsch Shower Filter Worth It? Maintenance Tips For LuxStone Showers Regular Cleaning To keep your LuxStone shower looking its best, it's essential to clean it regularly. I find that wiping down the walls and floor after each use helps prevent the buildup of soap scum and hard water stains. Using a squeegee can also help remove excess water and reduce the need for deep cleaning sessions. Avoid Harsh Chemicals As I mentioned earlier, abrasive cleaners can damage the surface of LuxStone panels. Stick to mild, non-abrasive cleaners and avoid anything containing bleach or ammonia. I usually use a mixture of water and mild dish soap for daily cleaning, and it works perfectly. Seal the Grout If your LuxStone shower includes any grout, it's important to seal it regularly to prevent mold and mildew growth. I seal my grout every six months, which keeps it looking clean and fresh. This step is especially crucial in areas with high humidity, as it helps maintain the integrity of the grout. Comparison With Other Brands When considering a LuxStone shower, it's natural to compare it with other popular brands. Let's take a look at how LuxStone stacks up against some of its main competitors. LuxStone Vs. Acrylic Showers Acrylic showers are a popular choice due to their affordability and ease of installation. However, they lack the premium look and feel of LuxStone showers. Acrylic can also be prone to scratching and discoloration over time, which is less of an issue with LuxStone. If you're looking for a more luxurious and durable option, LuxStone is the better choice, albeit at a higher price point. LuxStone Vs. Tile Showers Tile showers offer endless customization options and a classic look. However, they require more maintenance, particularly when it comes to cleaning grout lines. Tiles can also crack or chip, necessitating repairs. LuxStone showers, with their seamless panels and low-maintenance surface, provide a more hassle-free alternative. While tiles may offer more design flexibility, LuxStone wins in terms of ease of upkeep and durability. LuxStone Vs. Fiberglass Showers Fiberglass showers are another budget-friendly option, but they tend to look less upscale than LuxStone showers. Fiberglass can also suffer from surface cracks and fading over time. LuxStone, on the other hand, maintains its appearance and structural integrity for years. If you're willing to invest a bit more for a higher-end look and greater longevity, LuxStone is the way to go. Also Read: Is Mansfield Pro-Fit Shower Base Good For Bathroom?
