13 thoughts on “Best Toilet Bowl Cleaner For Hard Water Stains To Buy In 2023”
Lysol alone has so many packs and smells. It’s really confusing to determine which Lysol toilet bowl cleaner to buy. My toilet has the problem of hard water stains, but they are not that much serious. So, I don’t want to use any harsh chemical that can potentially damage my toilet instead. Lysol seems suitable for my purpose. But which one to pick?
Also, can you suggest which fragrance to buy? I can’t stand for the lemon fresh or something peppermint!
Thank you for your comment and interest in the toilet bowl cleaner.
It’s true that so many models and fragrances of the Lysol toilet bowl cleaner make some people confusing, and I guess you are one the victim of it. Well, they do various models just to meet various needs of various people.
As for you, if you have more than 2 numbers of toilets, I would suggest you go for the value pack. It’s more economical. And for the smell, I personally like the ocean fresh smell.
Among all the toilet bowl cleaner, I think the Zep will work for me since it contains acidic stuff. My 3 toilets on the 2nd floor have some serious hard water stains. I tried bleach, vinegar, and so many other stuff to get rid of them and miserably failed!
But after reading the Zep toilet bowl cleaner reviews, I have gained the belief that it will do the magic. Only I have a confusion that’s bothering me about Zep. Since it contains acid, will it damage the plastic parts of the toilet bowl?
Thank you for your query on Zep toilet bowl cleaner. Zep is actually a commercial great toilet bowl cleaner and used by professionals. But they are also safe to use at home as well. They are safe for the toilet and septic tank. When used properly and following their instructions, there will be no damage to your toilet. Use with confidence!
I have some very old toilets installed in my home. The hard water stains are the pretty hard nut to crack. I have tried several means to get rid of them, nothing worked! Reading your reviews on toilet bowl cleaner, it seems some products like Lysol or Zep would work. How confident you are that these product will work to get rid of such hard water stains from my toilet bowls?
Thanks for your question. I understand your toilets have pretty hard water stains and you have failed several times using several products to get rid of such stains. I am pretty confident that using Lysol or Zep should do the trick for you. They have been using lots of Americans for several years and there are the really good amount of positive reviews on such hard water stains cleaners. Try one and let me know if that works for you.
How often should you clean your toilet? I do it once a month using Lysol and I thought this is more than enough. But it is clearly not! I still can see some brown stains growing on in the toilet and I wonder why. I thought Lysol is the strongest toilet bowl cleaner. In your toilet bowl cleaner reviews, you have also recommended this one, right?
Since it is not getting the job done, I am wondering now what is the best toilet bowl cleaner? It’s so frustrating and embarrassing! Maybe I need something extreme. Can you recommend anything that may solve my problem?
You can try ZEP. But you should use the ZEP toilet bowl cleaner only when the situation is extreme. I can’t understand why Lysol won’t work for you. Did you give it enough time to work? You should at least let it sit on the toilet bowl for 1 hour. Then after a little scrubbing should do the job. So, you may consider using the Lysol again as it is instructed.
Also, the cleaning routine of your toilet should be more frequent. Make it at least once every week. There is nothing wrong trying the ZEP, but after you try the Lysol as instructed I think you should get your desired clean toilet bowl.
I have two children and they have a common bathroom attached to their room. The toilet was installed only 8 months ago in their bathroom. But due to not cleaning it regularly (this is just my guess), I notice brown stains in the toilet bowl.
It’s so disgusting and my children refused to use it. I tried vinegar and other homemade cleaning agents to clean that up, but no luck! So how do you remove brown stains from the toilet bowl?
I have read so many toilet bowl cleaner reviews articles and tried some of them as well. But in our article where you have written the zep toilet bowl cleaner reviews, I think it might work. What do you think?
ZEP is good and you are welcome to use it. I am pretty sure it will make your brown toilet bowl clean again and your children will love it! But before you try ZEP, why not try something subtler like Lysol? I am pretty sure Lysol can take care of your problem very efficiently.
I am not against the ZEP, but this one is for commercial usages and contains acidic elements. You need to be extra careful while applying it for home usages. Your best option would be Lysol though.
Well, I’m at a loss. I’ve been using Lysol Power for years. I have hard water stains that just don’t come out, there is also a little bit of rust around the rim, really small spot. I’ve tried other cleaners, but Lysol Power seems to be the best, even though the hard water stains are still there, I also have a ring, I’m guessing it’s also hard water, hoping I didn’t scratch the toilet with a brush, but, I don’t think that would have made such an even ring. I have Multiple Sclerosis and I have a huge problem w/scents, I get very dizzy if a scent stays for any length of time. Forget about essential oils, to me they are too strong and I’m guessing industrial strength cleaners are going to have also strong scents to them. Would be nice if there was a toilet cleaner w/o a scent, that would disinfect also. Any suggestions for my hard water stains? Also, I noticed there are 2 Lysol Power, I use the dark blue bottle 10X, but the industrial one says 3X. Do you know if industrial has the same scent has the 10X and what are the differences? Thank you.
What about Bar Keepers Friend, both powder and spray. Very good for toilets and sinks for hard water stains and rust from wells in hard water areas like Ohio
Also don’t forget RedOut for toilet tanks
Tsk – Mike
